During the academic year 2014-2015, we organise three Staff-students retreat –beginning of every academic year, beginning of II semester (combined with Reformation Day) and the last on Ash Wednesday. It begins on Tuesday evening with an introduction to the Theme by the leader followed by a morning, mid-morning and noon sessions on Wednesday. The climax of the retreat is the Holy Eucharist attended by the faculty, the students, and all the non-teaching staff and it ends with a community meal. The retreat sets the tone for the activities of the academic year/semester and is spiritually beneficial to the Gurukul community.
- The first staff-student retreat was held 17 & 18 June, 2014 led by Rev. S. Christopher Vijayan, Director, Department of Mission & Evangelism, CSI Synod on the theme "Christian Discipleship in a Secular World: Opportunities and Challenges for Ministerial Formation". Tamil Speaking students held special retreat session in Tamil language for the College service staff.
- Reformation day retreat was held during 28-29 October 2014 where Rev. Dr. Spurgeon Nesapandian, Chaplain & Professor of the Department of Philosophy, Madras Christian College led the retreat. The Department of Theology organised different programmes as part of celebrations.
- Ash Wednesday Retreat was held during17-18 February 2015. Dr. Ms. Florina Benoit, Chief Zonal Officer, CASA, Chennai led the sessions on the theme "Is that what he meant?"
