Sports Inauguration 2026: “Run for Glory”

The Gurukul campus came alive with energy, colour, and enthusiasm as Sports Inauguration 2026 was held on 31 July 2026 at Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute.
The programme commenced with the introduction of the theme, “Run for Glory,” followed by the formal introduction of the four House Captains by the Faculty Advisor, Dr. Dearson. The newly appointed captains then participated in the Oath-Taking Ceremony, pledging to lead their respective houses with integrity, discipline, commitment, and a spirit of teamwork.
The Gurukul community was honoured by the presence of Rev. Dr. Thomas Birla, Faculty in the Department of Religion, as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, he emphasised that sports extend beyond competition and achievement. They provide opportunities to cultivate discipline, perseverance, resilience, character, leadership, and fellowship, qualities that are equally significant for Christian ministry and responsible living.
A significant highlight of the inauguration was the ceremonial torch relay, in which the House Captains, together with the Sports Committee Convenor, proudly carried the torch, symbolising unity, commitment, and the shared spirit of the Gurukul community.
The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, marking the commencement of the 2026 sports season with renewed enthusiasm, commitment, and a strong spirit of fellowship.
Run for Glory. Lead with Integrity. Play with Spirit. Grow Together.
